Starmie Used Swift

Created entirely in photoshop and illustrator, aside from a photo I took of my cork board for the texture of starmie's skin.

I really wanted to draw a Poliwrath. This started out in a very cartoony style but then I remembered that long ago I had taken some close ups of a toad, and I thought this would be a good time to put them to use.



And here's a shot of a closed antique shop down the road. I thought it was pretty.



In other news, I'm looking at buying my first new camera in about 6 years, so look forward to some high quality photos in the near future!

Poster Time

I have a lot of collector's editions of video games. I figure its about time that the plastic wonders they come with earn their keep with me. I am starting a new series in which I use them to make posters for the games they are from. I will be experimenting with many styles and techniques as I go along. The first entry is a quick and to the point God of War 3 poster. Look out for more in the near future!

A Self Portrait (Among Other Things)

Here's a few things I've done recently. Some are complete, some aren't. That's just how it goes.



First up is a self portrait that I did this weekend. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The colours came out much more saturated when I uploaded it but it looks pretty cool so I don't mind.

This is just a fun little exercise in typography.



And finally, a cool 3D version of my logo. Just learning some new photoshop techniques on that one.

So it's been a while. I got a great job that has been keeping me very busy. Today I treated myself to a proper drawing surface. This is the first thing I've made with it. It may or may not make more sense to you if you are familiar with the series of video games entitled Bit.trip.

I haven't really been slacking. I made this last week as a possible image for an album cover. The band ended up making their own cover but I like it so I thought I'd share anyways!

Weekly Photography

This one's going to be a two parter. I've been severely slacking in my photography over the past year but I recently had an idea that just had to be shot. Lucky for me, it turned out just like I imagined it. The idea was to take two sets of the same model in the same location, one during the day and one at night. Here's some highlights from the day time set. Tomorrow I will upload several from the night set.

Weekly Design

Alright, so here is our first weekly design. To tell you the truth though, I feel as though something is missing or off here...any suggestions for improvement would be most welcome!

Priorities

As you may have noticed, my new job is making it rather difficult for me to get designs done every day. So I have an idea. Instead of daily designs, for the next little while, I'm going to be trying out weekly designs. There are both good and bad points to this. The bad is that we won't have an enthralling new design every day. The good is that I'll be able to put a lot more time and effort into each design so there will be a definite increase in quality. So let's see how this goes. I'll post the new weekly design every Saturday. But keep your eyes peeled in the mean time, because there might still be some bonus daily designs during the week.
